Your Project

5/14/2013

Your Maniac Magee project is going to be due June 7th! Do NOT bring it in late, it will cost you points.

Here's a few points for where you should be on your projects by now. If you haven't gotten this far, exchange emails/messages with your partner and get cracking.

RESEARCH PROJECT

- have a list of family types written down, with a few lines of information about each type
- have images to support your research
- have an idea as to how most people define a "normal" family
- know at least one examples from Maniac Magee in answer to "What does Maniac Magee teach us about home and family?"

STORYBOARD PROJECT (CLICK "READ MORE")
- have your story very loosely prewritten. You should know who you hero is, what amazing things they can do, and where your story takes place.
- you should have an introduction, rising action, conflict
- you should know how your conflict is resolved by your hero --- what amazing thing do they do to solve their problem?
- you should have an idea of how your story ends
- this should all be written down somewhere to show me
- you should have character sketches/pictures
- you should have decide how you want to lay out your presentation.

The above file is just two examples of what your presentation may look like. You can do whatever you like, so long as it's clear!

Things to Remember
  • you do not need to write an ENTIRE story. you are basically showing me some detailed prewriting
  • think 5-8 sentences for each story map step (Introduction, Rising Action, etc)
  • Your images need to make sense --- they need to ILLUSTRATE your story
