Dear ALL of Mrs. Johnson's Classes,
I feel so lucky to have taught you these short few months. You truly are a fantastic bunch of kids. I hope that you all learned from me. I hope you learned things that you can use in school and out of school. I hope you feel smarter, braver, and more fantastic every day, because that is how I will remember you.
I will absolutely be back to visit, and I hope you have a wonderful summer. Good luck in 7th grade. Remember that you'll be an example for all the 6th graders in 2013-2014.
Work hard, hang out with people you admire, and remember that everyone deserves a kind word.
*Double Thumbs Up*

Here is just ONE example of an essay map that you can use to better format your Maniac Magee essay.
I found this by Googling "essay" map under Images.
There were two essays. You chose one:
How are Grayson and Maniac similar? Think about their pasts and their personal dramas. Use examples from the text (story).
What are some things Grayson learned from Maniac before he died?
Was what Grayson learned valuable?
Why/why not? Use examples from the text (story).

Remember to get a good night's sleep.
Wake up and do some stretches, getting ready to start your day with a good attitude.
EAT BREAKFAST. (A good, healthy breakfast, of course.)
Take a look at your notes, this site, or any others that may help you, on Sunday evening so you can feel prepared.
Don't be scared or nervous.
Just do your best, because that is all you can do. Give it 100%, and be happy.
Due to the fact that so many students have been remiss about handing in their reading logs (no matter how lenient I was in March), there have been some changes for making period 4. Please click the button to the right ------------- >
